Six Babies Born in 12 Hours at St. Joe’s To Welcome The New Year

Elias Davis was the first baby born of 2026 in Lewiston. He entered the world at 5lbs, 13.5oz at 1:38am yesterday (Thurs). He is born to Alexis Barnette Ludwig and Jason Davis.

The maternity ward was busy at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center before and after midnight. There were three delivered on the 31st at 6:15pm, 10:40pm, and 11:44pm. Davis was born at 1:38am on the 1st, followed by another baby at 3:06am and 5:32am for a total of 6 in less than 12 hours.

St. Joseph’s Director of Women’s and Children’s Services, Rori Santana said “We are honored to be part of these families’ most treasured moments and to help them welcome the first babies of the New Year.”
