Bengals Boys Advance to Avista Tourney Title Game, Girls to Play for Third

The Lewiston High boy’s basketball team advanced to the Avista Holiday Basketball Tournament championship game, while the Bengal girls will play for third place.

Royce Fisher led the way for the LHS boys with 24 points and Blaze Hepburn added 18 in a 78-41 semi-final win over Ellensburg yesterday (Tue) at the P1FCU Activity Center.

The Bengals improved to 6-2 and will face Kendrick in title round today (Wed) at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the LHS girls had a rough day scoring in falling to Ellensburg 62-36.

Paytland Schnell and Kylese Samuels each scored 6 points to the lead the Bengal offense.

Lewiston will take on Moscow in the tournament’s third place game this (Wed) morning at 11:30 a.m. at the P1FCU Activity Center. Fans can tune in for live coverage of both Bengal games in the LC Valley on The River 105.1 FM and streaming free online at bengalsports.com.

The Clarkston girls will face Ellensburg for the girl’s title today (Wed) at 2:30 p.m. The Bantams are looking for a third straight Avista Tournament championship.
