The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a house fire yesterday (Tue) afternoon.
According to a news release, crews were dispatched to the home located on the 800 block of Preston Avenue around 3 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters reported smoke and fire coming from multiple areas of the house.
Crews were able to bring the blaze under control, however several pets inside perished in the fire. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
Damage to the structure was estimated at $350,000 with an additional $100,000 damage to the home’s contents.
