Nez Perce Tribal Police have arrested a Lapwai man in connection with an alleged sexual offense involving a minor. 18-year-old Laricci S. George-Smith was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces preliminary charges of Sexual Molestation of a Minor Under 16 and Enticement of a Child.
In a press release Tribal Police say detectives believe there may be more people who have had contact or communication with the suspect under similar circumstances.
Chief Mark Bensen says “We take these matters very seriously…Our priority is the safety and well-being of our children and our community.” He went on to say that anyone who has been affected should come forward and talk to them.
