Several Local High School Football Teams Begin Post Season Play This Weekend

The Idaho State High School Football Playoffs get underway this weekend, while many Washington teams wrap-up their regular seasons.

Lewiston opens the Idaho State 5-A Playoffs tonight (Fri) when the Bengals host fellow Inland Empire League member Lakeland. Lewiston is 3-6, while Lakeland finished the regular season with an 8-1 record.

Kick-off from the P1FCU Sports Complex is set for 7 p.m. with live radio coverage in the LC Valley on The River 105.1 FM and streaming free online at bengalsports.com.

Five area teams are competing in the Idaho State 2-A Playoffs tonight (Fri). Kamiah is home to meet Glenns Ferry; Logos has a home game with Oakley; Potlatch travels to play Hagerman; and Prairie is hosting Valley tonight in Cottonwood. Defending state champion Kendrick has an opening round bye as the #1 overall seed in the 2-A playoffs.

In the Idaho State 1-A Playoffs: Genesee is home tonight to face Timberline; and Salmon River heads north to face Wallace.

Other games tonight include Clarkston on the road at North Central in Spokane; Pullman closes-out the regular season tonight with home game against Riverside; Colfax looks to complete an undefeated regular season when the Bulldogs bus to Liberty. Unbeaten Pomeroy closes out the regular season tonight at home with DeSales; and Garfield-Palouse finishes the regular season tonight at Liberty Christian. And Asotin wraps-up the regular season at home tomorrow (Sat) when the Panthers square-off against Northwest Christian.
