
The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 3800 block of 14th Street E at about 11:30 a.m. yesterday (Wed).
According to a news release, callers reported smoke coming from all sides of the roof line. Lewiston Police officers arrived first and reported a fully involved structure fire and it was unknown if the home was occupied.
Fire crews attacked the blaze and completed a search of the structure. One dog was located during the search, and was removed from the building and revived by firemen on scene. The main fire was located in the basement and had extended to the first floor and attic space. The fire was brought under control and crews began the task of overhauling the scene looking for fire extension and hot spots. Two residents of the home were at work at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The estimated damage to the structure is approximately $150,000 and loss of contents is $75,000.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.
