A new job posting online has some people concerned young women may be getting themselves in trouble. A job posting went up on a local Facebook page for waitstaff at a “NEW Soda Bikini Bar”. The post says it’s going to be in the “Downtown Lewiston, ID area” and advertises $50-$60 per hour with tips.
Screenshots of an interaction with a local citizen on LCV Neighborhood Watch shows the names “Billy Ray Rock” and “Tiffany’s Adult Bikini House” associated with the bar. In the interaction a woman representing the group on social media had an aggressive interaction with the citizen.
We spoke with Billy Ray Rock. He says the social media representative has since been fired.
“She noticed some of the crap somebody said about me and went off on Facebook on somebody and I’ve since released the girl of her duties because I don’t put up with anybody disrespecting anybody like that.”
He says it’s all very early in the planning stages, but he hopes to launch the business next year. There will be no nudity and no alcohol, the waitresses just wear bikinis as the uniform. He says he’s gotten quite a bit of flack from the misunderstandings on Facebook. He says he has two daughters and would never be involved in – quote – “something weird”.
“I’m just a guy with an idea of opening up a business, and everybody is like flippin’ out.”
So far the City of Lewiston has not had any applications for businesses of this type.
