Arrest Made Following Vehicle Burglary & Pursuit in Nezperce Area

Yesterday (Wed) morning at around 1:20 AM, a Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress on Cemetery Road near Nezperce.

​According to a sheriff’s office social media post, upon arrival, the reporting party directed the deputy to the suspects’ vehicle which had left the scene. The deputy quickly located the vehicle, at which point the driver attempted to elude the deputy by turning into an agricultural field. The pursuit ended after both the suspect vehicle and the pursuing patrol vehicle crossed over a large embankment and came to a stop in an adjacent field.

​The male driver, identified as Gregory Wyatt, was taken into custody on charges including:  ​Attempted Burglary, Felony Eluding an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

​An unidentified female passenger was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. Information regarding her involvement is being forwarded to Nez Perce Tribal Police.
