Warrior Women’s Basketball Ranked 7th in Preseason National Poll

The Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball team is ranked 7th in the preseason NAIA national poll.

The Warriors are the highest ranked Cascade Conference team after going 26-7 last year while advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

Five seniors lead the team including All-Cascade Conference honorees Sitara Byrd and Payton Hymas. Last season’s NAIA blocks leader Darian Herring also returns for her junior year under third-year head coach Caelyn Orlandi.

Around the Cascade Conference, Oregon Tech checked in at No. 14 with Southern Oregon just behind at No. 15. College of Idaho is receiving votes.

The Warriors open the season this Friday and Saturday at home against Dickinson State, North Dakota.  Game times are set for 5:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday inside the P1FCU Activity Center with live radio coverage in the LC Valley on 95.5 FM and AM 950 KOZE and streaming free online at koze.com.
