Things could get cold this weekend and next week. The National Weather Service in Missoula is warning about a drop in the snow level for Idaho and western Montana. They’re also warning hunters on the first weekend of the season that there’s a significant risk of hypothermia.
Snow levels will drop to 4,000 feet in some places. Whitebird Hill on Highway 95 is more than 4,200 feet and Lolo Pass on Highway 12 is more than 5,200 feet.
Snow and rain will likely be accompanied by 15-25mph winds. The combination can cause slick roads and hazardous driving conditions.
