Idaho County deputies and Idaho State Police SWAT troopers were in Cottonwood yesterday (Sun). Just before 5pm Idaho County Dispatch received information that a wanted man was on Church Street in Cottonwood.
Deputies found 42-year-old Eric Wright of Kalispell, MT in a camper. Because he was a potential heightened risk, they waited for the ISP SWAT team to arrive. While they were trying to contact him, a release from the Sheriff’s Office says he sustained a self-inflicted injury. Wright was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood, then airlifted to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene for further treatment.
Wright was arrested on multiple felony warrants out of Whitman County, WA. The incident is still under investigation.
