58-Million Pounds of Corndogs Recalled

The USDA is warning about 58-million pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products. They’re being recalled because they may be contaminated with pieces of wood in the batter.

The products are from the Hillshire Brands Company. The problem was discovered after Hillshire received multiple consumer complaints, five of which involved injuries. The Hillshire Brands Company conducted an investigation and determined that the wooden sticks entered the production process prior to product battering.

They were mostly sold under the State Fair and Jimmy Dean brands. Some were shipped to school districts, but are not part of the National School Lunch Program. They were also sent to Department of Defense facilities across the country.

The corn dogs and sausages on a stick were packaged between March 17th, 2025 and September 26th, 2025.
