An inmate from the Latah County Jail died after being found unresponsive in a jail cell. Details are few in a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, but a release says on September 16th, deputies started life-saving measures as soon as they found the inmate unresponsive. Medics arrived and took over care and transported the person to the hospital. The inmate’s status was listed as critical for the following several days. Next of kin approved taking the inmate off life support. The person passed away afterward.
The Sheriff’s Office says they’re not planning on releasing any more information.
The Idaho State Police is handling the investigation.
