Idaho and Taiwan will sign a $1.2 billion agreement this week supporting Idaho wheat exports over the next three years.

According to a news release, Idaho State Department of Agriculture Director Chanel Tewalt, Taiwan Flour Mills Association Chairman Wei-Chang Chang, Director General Mei-Chen Lin of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Seattle, and Idaho Wheat Commission Chairman Cory Kress will join Idaho Lieutenant Governor Scott Bedke for the ceremony and press conference tomorrow (Wed) morning in Boise.

The agreement highlights the strength of Idaho’s relationship with Taiwan, one of Idaho’s most important trade partners and the sixth-largest market for U.S. wheat. The Taiwan Flour Mills Association imports wheat for all 20 Taiwanese flour mills, continuing a partnership that spans more than 40 years.
