Starting next month you’ll have to prove you live in the city of Lewiston to use the transfer station.
On October 1st, anyone living outside of city limits will have to take their garbage somewhere else. People using the transfer station on the north side of the Snake River will have to present a current utility bill with a Lewiston address showing sanitation services AND a valid driver’s license showing the same address as what’s on the utility bill.
A release from the city says Lewiston residents will continue to have full access to this service. Signs will go up at the entrance reminding customers that they’ll have to show both documents to get in.
