The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in connection with a break-in and attempted theft of an ATM cash machine in Uniontown last month.

According to social media post, deputies, working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies across the region, identified 42 year-old Eric B. Wright as a possible suspect early in the investigation. Authorities were able to track Wright to a residence in Longview, Washington, where they located a black Dodge Challenger, matching the one used in the break-in. That vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Billings, Montana.

Further investigation led to the discovery of another stolen vehicle and a stolen trailer at the property where Wright was living in Western Washington. The trailer was identified as one reportedly stolen out of Garfield, Washington, in 2024.

Wright is currently facing additional charges in Whitman and Latah Counties for unrelated cases and federal charges for a regional property crime spree dating back to early 2024.

A warrant for Wright’s arrest has been issued out of Whitman County Superior Court.

The case remains ongoing, and further details will be released as appropriate.
