The park in Lewiston that has been closed since spring will re-open September 5th.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says staffing constraints required the closure of several areas in their district. The park with the walking overpass to the levee was one of them. The Illia Dunes Habitat Management Unit is another. The location, popular with university students and often closed because of misuse, will open back up on September 19th.
Blyton Landing opens sooner. August 29th, the dock downriver from Clarkston on Wawawai Rd. will be a place to start or finish your boating adventure.
In a release from the Corps Lt. Col Katie Weback says “These phased re-openings reflect our commitment to safely managing public lands while supporting recreation opportunities for communities across the region.”
