Idaho Republican U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher has reintroduced House Resolution 4324, the One Subject at a Time Act.

The One Subject at a Time Act requires that each bill or joint resolution shall not have more than one subject. Additionally, an appropriations bill cannot change existing authorizing law that is not germane to that appropriations bill, but still allows for limitation amendments that are germane to the bill.

The resolution has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee. Congressman Fulcher first introduced the bill in 2019

The legislation comes as the federal government nears its fiscal year-end deadline on September 30th, marking Congress’s annual cutoff to enact appropriations bills.
