
Andrea Dearden has been named the new Director of Communication for the Idaho Department of Education. She replaces Scott Graf who is now with IdahoPTV.
According to a news release, Dearden brings extensive professional experience in media and communications in Idaho. She served as the Director of Communication and Engagement for the Ada County Sheriff’s Office in Boise for 17 years. She instructs for Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) in Meridian, FEMA Public Information courses and serves as an adjunct with Northwestern University teaching communication in their School of Public Safety’s Executive Management Program. Prior to that, she worked as a television news anchor and reporter for KTVB in Boise, as well as for stations in California and Montana.
Dearden’s first day with the department will be September 2nd.
