Firefighters responded to a dumpster fire yesterday evening. Just before 7pm Nez Perce County Fire rushed to Summit Construction on Hatwai Road. A statement from the department says when they arrived, they found a construction dumpster fully engulfed in fire. It was next to a piece of construction equipment. Nez Perce Tribal Fire and the deputies from the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office helped extinguish the blaze. The cause appears to be spontaneous combustion of oily rags.
