One person was airlifted to the hospital yesterday when an SUV collided with a commercial vehicle. It happened on Highway 12 just about 4pm. A release from Kooskia Emergency Services says Kooskia Ambulance and Kooskia Fire were dispatched to mile post 118, east of Lowell for a motor vehicle accident. When they arrived, crews found one person who had been removed from the SUV by bystanders. That person was taken in an ambulance to the Kooskia Airport and then transported to a medical facility. Emergency services did not list how severe the patient’s wounds were or which hospital.
