UPDATE 3:00pm – State fire assistance has been approved and help in the on the way for the firefighters in Whitman County near Central Ferry. The size estimate is now 600 acres and growing. It’s burning in grass, wheat, and brush and is now threatening homes. The evacuation orders for homes along SR127 around Mile Post 13 are still in effect.
Pullman firefighters and just about any available firefighter in Whitman County are responding to a large wildfire near Dusty. It’s along Highway 127 north of Central Ferry.
Evacuations are in place for all homes along SR127 between MP 13 and 13.5.
The current estimate is 400 acres in size.
