The YWCA is still accepting school supplies. They’re already thinking about kids getting back to school and what it costs parents to make it happen, so they’re gearing up for the annual School Supply Distribution Day. Their plan is to make sure every school-age child has the supplies he or she needs to succeed in the classroom.
They need the community’s help to make is possible. You can donate school supplies or make a monetary donation at the YWCA office on Main Street in Lewiston. They need pencils, notebook paper, crayons, glue, markers, and backpacks. You can find a full list on the YWCA’s website. https://ywcaidaho.org/events/school-supplies/
YWCA Director of Development and Engagement Victoria Scalise says every year they see 700 to 1,000 kids in need of supplies and these donations help relieve the financial burden on families and make sure every child is prepared and confident on the first day of school.
The actual distribution is coming soon on Friday, August 15th from 10:00am until 2:00pm or until supplies run out.
