LC Valley firefighters are still at a structure fire in Lewiston at 4:00pm. A witness tells us it may have been started by an electrical problem. The structure at the corner of 20th St and 8th Avenue had at least two apartments in it. Fire broke out just after 2pm.
Crews from Lewiston Fire led the firefighting effort. Clarkston Fire, Nez Perce County Fire, and Asotin County Fire District all came to help.
The temperature away from the fire was more than 100 degrees when it started. Firefighters had to be relieved often to keep from getting hurt, so manpower was more important than extra vehicles.
The neighboring houses were not badly damaged by the fire, but the next-door neighbor reports he did get water runoff into his basement.
Initial reports say no one was hurt in the fire.
