The National Weather Service out of Missoula is warning of thunderstorms this weekend. It mostly affects towns in the mountains and on the Montana border. Salmon, Idaho and Anaconda, Montana have a 20-50% chance of thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday. More locally, Grangeville has a 20% chance on Sunday night. The storms can bring periods of heavy rain. Lightning strikes are also a danger as they are often the cause of fires in the Idaho mountains.
