
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office’s K9 units were busy Saturday. Just before 10am, a deputy was on patrol and made a stop near Kooskia for a routine offense. A release from the Sheriff’s Office says K9 Enzo arrived on scene with his handler and alerted on the vehicle. The release says a search revealed methamphetamine and paraphernalia. 48-year-old Melanie Kleinsmith was arrested for the meth, paraphernalia, and concealment of evidence.
Almost two hours later, a deputy found a car in a pullout on Prairie Road near Grangeville. The deputy stopped and found the plates didn’t match the vehicle. They called in K9 Rip. The dog alerted on the vehicle and the release says a search turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia. 63-year-old Gari Grief was arrested possession of meth, marijuana, and paraphernalia.
