Northern Washington’s Okanogan County will transition from a burn restriction to a full county-wide burn ban on Friday morning at 12:01 a.m.
According to the county, the ban prohibits all outdoor burning of combustible materials – including recreational fires, yard vegetation or yard waste, non-emergency agricultural burning, exploding gun targets, bullet tracer rounds, and charcoal.
The one exception in Okanogan County is propane fire pits which are still allowed under the new ban.
Residents are urged to comply with the regulations in efforts to prevent wildfires and ensure public safety.
After Friday, Okanogan County’s burn ban will remain in effect until further notice.
