Ribbon Cutting for U.S. Highway 95 Realignment to be Held Monday

itd

As the Idaho Transportation Department prepares to open the new four-lane section of U.S. Highway 95 from Thorn Creek to Moscow next week, local media and only invited guests will join the department and Governor Brad Little for a ribbon cutting on Monday.

The project dates back to 1999, and construction began in 2022 to realign the curving, two-lane highway to the east and expand it to four lanes. The new route was funded partially by Governor Little’s Leading Idaho program and was designed to be safer with a flatter grade, fewer curves and better access control.

The event will be hosted on the future roadway toward the north end of the project near Moscow. Guests are invited to drive the new alignment prior to the event.
