Scam texts are hitting a lot of phones right now. It even came to one of us here at LC Valley News. It claims you have an unpaid traffic ticket.
The Washington Department of Licensing is sending out this warning. They say it’s completely false and definitely a scam.
They say they’ll never send you a text like that. You can also see that it’s coming from an international area code, it has spelling and grammar errors, and a fake website link. They recommend you don’t click the link to check if it’s fake.
You can report it to the Federal Trade Commission, or just delete and ignore it.
