The Idaho State Police are investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred Monday night around 8:30 on Waha Road near Buchanan Road south of Lewiston.
According to a news release, a Toyota 4runner SUV, driven by an 18-year-old woman from Lewiston was traveling northbound on Waha Road. The vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch and rolled. The unidentified driver was transported to a local hospital via air ambulance where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The roadway was blocked for about 3 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol and drugs are being investigated as factors. The crash remains under investigation.
