Lewis-Clark State College President Cynthia Pemberton has released information on plans to address recent vacancies within the athletic department.

In a weekly release, Pemberton presented an update on how the college will move forward to replace former Athletic Director Ronnie Palmer as well as other athletic administrative staff.

Interim AD duties will be distributed between the college’s two assistant athletic directors, Alisha Alexander and Raymond Pedrina, with support from the Office of the President, and Jennie Jones Hall, Director of College Advancement and Foundation Executive Director. Both Alexander and Pedrina will be included in the Cabinet throughout the summer and into fall, and will have regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with the President – as an Athletic Director normally would.

Administrative Coordinator Samantha Malinich will continue her normal responsibilities and may assist with some additional duties as the college waits to search and fill the vacant business manager/administration assistant position until a new AD is onboard.

The search for a new athletic director will be chaired by Logan Fowler who has assumed elevated responsibilities as LC State’s Chief Communications & Marketing/State & Local Affairs Officer.

The search process will be initiated by inviting internal and external constituent groups including, students, student-athletes, staff, faculty, community stakeholders, sponsors, Warrior Athletic Association members, Foundation Board members, and more, to participate in listening sessions and share their thoughts and perspectives.

The Athletic Director position will be posted in the very near future and will remain open until filled. President Pemberton says the goal is to have a new AD on campus by mid to late fall.
