
A Pomeroy man was taken into custody yesterday after allegedly shooting toward his family members. At about 8:00pm, deputies responded to the Hi-Way Trailer Park on Highway 12.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office says deputies were responding to a domestic violence incident with an adult male and an adult female. Reports to 9-1-1 said multiple adult and juvenile family members ran from their house after the man went inside and retrieved a firearm and started firing in the direction they ran.
Deputies responding to the incident heard gun shots as they arrived. They evacuated residents of the park because they found the man “pacing between trailers with a rifle in his hands.
The Man is identified as 54-year-old Gary M. Miller. After deputies talked him down, he was taken to the Whitman County Jail. He’s charged with Assault 1st Degree Domestic Violence, two counts of Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree, and Assault 4th Degree Domestic Violence.
