Highway 11 traffic will be slowed down starting Monday. The bridge just north of Pierce is coming out and getting a replacement.
The Idaho Transportation Department will be adding a temporary bridge over Quartz Creek to divert traffic while they demolish the old one and build a brand new one. The old bridge was built in 1958. The ITD says it has met the end of its service life. The construction will realign the roadway and fix a bad culvert as well as creation of a new bridge.
Contractors will be working weekdays between 6:00am and 6:00pm. Speed approaching the signal directing traffic will be slowed to 25 miles per hour.
The ITD says work should be done in September.
