The Whitman County Department of Emergency Management in collaboration with local school districts, ESD 101, fire and EMS services, local law enforcement agencies, and Whitman Community Hospital, will conduct an active shooter mass casualty training exercise on Wednesday, June 18th at the Colfax High School.

The training event is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and is designed to enhance coordination and preparedness among local agencies in responding to critical incidents. The exercise will simulate a mass casualty scenario to provide realistic training for all participants, school administrators and other interrelated professional disciplines.

Residents and visitors should be aware that streets in the immediate vicinity of Colfax High School may be impacted during the training period. Alternate routes around Colfax High School and Jennings Elementary will be marked the day of the event. The exercise will involve emergency vehicles, personnel in uniforms and or protective gear, and simulated emergency activities, but there is no cause for alarm as this is a planned training event.
