A scam that popped up earlier this year seems to be coming back around again. It affects casinos all over the northwest. The fraudulent posts claim you can win money in an online casino through the Clearwater River Casino, Coeur d’Alene Casino, Muckleshoot Casino, and others.
One for the Coeur d’Alene Casino showed up looking like it’s sponsored by Peter Bergen, a professor and CNN contributor. If you click on his name, it takes you to his legitimate page, but there’s no sign of the advertisement or of him being involved at all.
The casinos all recommend that you don’t click the links or engage with these scams at all. They remind you that online gambling is illegal in Idaho.
