Sunday afternoon a Riggins man died when his vehicle veered off the road. 49-year-old Thomas Clay was on French Creek Road, east of Riggins when his vehicle went off the road, hit some rocks, and continued down the mountainside, rolling several times. Clay was the only person in the vehicle. He was ejected from it during the incident. Emergency crews responded at about 5:45pm Sunday. It happened about 4-and-a-half miles east of the Big Salmon Road in the mountains.
