The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office reports a Lewiston man died this weekend while on a camping trip. 18-year-old Sheldon Medford was camping in the area of Ahsahka when he was pinned under a large boulder. He was determined to be deceased when emergency crews arrived. The Sheriff’s Office, Tribal Police, and the Orofino Fire Department rushed to the scene when they got a report that the boulder fell on Medford. It happened about a mile down Northfork Drive in Ahsahka. Investigators are still working on the incident. His family has already been notified.
