A petition to recall Washington’s Governor sits at 60,600 signatures at the time of writing.
The recall effort on change.org was written by Shannon Soderlund. She describes herself as “a hard-working, middle-class taxpayer and gas station worker”. She writes “I’m not part of any special interest…(she) simply wants our leaders to make our state more affordable, not tax us out of our homes.”
The main issue is the recent budget. It increases taxes on Washingtonians by about $9 billion.
She went on to say “…Ferguson’s disregard for the hardworking people of our state has never been more apparent…He betrayed us. Enough is enough.”
The petition does not include any of the senators or representatives who presented the budget to the Governor.
