Pullman firefighters are warning that Cottonwood fluff is more than just annoying. It can build up in your yard and become extremely flammable. They says it’s blowing all over Pullman right now covering driveways, lawns, and junipers, creating an extreme fire danger.
Every year Pullman Fire responds to several cottonwood fires, especially in the College Hill neighborhood.
They recommend you help reduce the number and severity of wildfires by disposing of the fluff. It’s best to wet it down, rake it up, and dispose of it safely.
