Lewiston residents will vote today (Tue) on a proposed downtown water infrastructure bond project.
The $25 million bond would improve the stormwater, water, and wastewater system underground. According to the city, the project serves every household and business in town.
The city plans to use revenues from ongoing utility rate revenues and reserves to repay the bond, with no planned increase to property taxes or utility rate.
Meanwhile, voters in the Grangeville-based Mountain View School District will consider breaking up the district. If approved, all schools in Grangeville would be in their own district, and schools in Kooskia and Elk City would form another district.
There are also several school levies being decided today in the Cottonwood, Salmon River, Nezperce, Highland, Whitepine and Potlatch school districts. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today (Tue).
