It’s now illegal in Washington to feed birds and other animals if it attracts deer. Fish & Wildlife pushed through a new ordinance that prohibits the feeding of nearly any animal if deer, elk, or moose may congregate in that area.
They’re concerned about Chronic Wasting Disease. They say it’s more easily spread when a food source brings them together.
The rule makes it illegal to “place, deposit, distribute, or scatter feed…to lure or attract deer, elk, or moose not lawfully held in captivity.”
The rule was filed April 16th and became active last Friday.
