Zane Hobart is the new head coach for the Lewiston Bengal football team. The Lewiston native has been coaching in Kendrick for the last several years. He says he’s ready for the move to a bigger school and bigger team.
“Obviously there’s a difference from the eight-man game to the 11-man game, but the reality is, football is still the same. The way you teach somebody to block, catching the ball, all that stuff. The fundamentals of the game don’t change”
Hobart played for LHS before graduating in 2009. He spent all day today in meetings to get things going. He says they’re a little bit behind, but he plans to meet with students and their parents and get going as quickly as possible.
He’s replacing the Matt Pancheri who announced he was leaving the position last month to move to southern Idaho with his family.
