If you’re headed to Boise this summer, plan for delays. The Idaho Transportation Department just released a map of projects on Highway 55. That’s part of the main route from Lewiston to Boise.
The ITD recommends you travel during off-peak hours like early mornings or late evenings to avoid delays.
There are 6 major projects going on between New Meadows and Boise.
One of the projects is to put up a sign that will notify drivers of incidents and detours.
They’ll be working on three bridges, a traffic signal, and chip-sealing between Horseshoe Bend and the Boise National Forest boundary.
The ITD says the projects have to be done quickly because Idaho has a short summer construction window.
