Business Loans Available to Hwy 95-Affected Shops

Highway 95 Landslide

Low-interest loans are available to businesses affected by the closure of Highway 95. When rain washed out part of the highway in March, it was closed to trucks and decreased traffic through the area. Now the U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that small businesses that suffered, can apply for low-interest federal disaster loans.

It also applies to non-profits. The loans are up to $2 million, paid back up to 30 years.

If you’re going to apply, you must be in a specific county. Idaho is among them.  Other Idaho counties include Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Custer, Gem, Lemhi, Payette, Valley, and Washington. Across the border in Oregon, Baker and Wallowa counties are on the list.

There’s a virtual business recovery center where you can find answers to your questions about these loans. It’s open Mondays through Fridays from 8am – 4:30. You can e-mail focwassistance@sba.gov or call (916) 735-1531.

The deadline to apply is January 21st, 2026.
