
The cost of crude oil has plummeted since the beginning of the month, and gasoline prices in Idaho are slowly falling in response.
According to the American Automobile Association, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in Idaho is about $3.31, two cents less than a week ago, four cents more than a month ago, and 61 cents less than a year ago.
The national average currently sits at $3.15 per gallon – three cents less than a week ago, three cents more than a month ago, and 52 cents less than a year ago.
Idaho ranks 10th in the U.S. for the most expensive fuel.
The West Texas Intermediate benchmark for crude oil is currently trading near $63 per barrel, which is nearly $2 more than a week ago, but $5 less than a month ago. AAA says if the price of crude remains well below the $70 mark this week, gas prices could slide again this week.
Motorists in Boise and Idaho Falls are paying the lowest average price for a gallon of regular in the Idaho at $3.22, while drivers in Lewiston are paying the highest average price in the state at $3.43.
