ID Unemployment Remains Steady In March

Idaho’s unemployment rate held steady between February and March, remaining at 3.7%

March’s labor force dropped by 667 people, and the number of people 16 or older working or looking for work dropped nearly the same amount.

Idaho’s non-farm jobs had a net decrease of 700 jobs, with the most cuts coming from health care and social services.

The industry with the high job gains in March were durable good manufacturing and management of companies and enterprises.

Lewiston and Boise had no change in March’s non-farm jobs number. Twin Falls saw the largest increase of 0.4%, followed by Coeur d’Alene at 0.3%.

Compared to last March, Lewiston had the only decrease in non-farm jobs with a decrease of 1.3%.

Idaho’s 3.7% unemployment rate is lower than the national average of 4.2%.
