Asotin County Emergency Management Warns About Burning In Windy Weather

The wind is expected to pick up this afternoon, and the Asotin County Emergency Management team is sending out a warning. Potential wind gusts are up to 40 mph. Controlled burning is allowed right now, but last year’s dead grasses could easily catch fire and blaze out of control.

Burning is allowed between 9am and 4pm in Asotin County. Fires must be out by 4 o’clock, and they can’t be larger that 4 feet by 4 feet by 3 feet tall. They also have to be at least 50 feet from structures and combustible materials.
