Clarkston High Woodshop Suffers Fire Damage

The Clarkston School District reported a fire at the high school woodshop early this (Thur) morning.

Officials say the structure sustained significant damage from the blaze that was reported just after midnight. There were no injuries reported.

Firefighters from the Clarkston Fire Department, the Asotin County Fire District and Lewiston Fire Department responded at around 12:15 a.m. and had the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Crews reportedly stayed on scene for an additional two hours extinguishing hot spots.

The fire is not impacting normal school operations as classes are scheduled to move forward as usual.

A damage estimate has not been released and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
