Asphyxia has been determined to be the cause of death of a Pullman man who perished in a fire on New Year’s Eve at a residence on the 400 block of North East Maple Street.
According to a news release from the Whitman County Coroner’s Office, the cause and manner of death for 60-year-old Steven Sargent was asphyxia due to inhalation of smoke.
