Man Hospitalized Following Stolen Vehicle Crash in Lewiston

Lewiston Police continue to investigate a rollover crash last (Sun) night involving a stolen vehicle in the Lewiston Orchards.

According to a news release, LPD received a report of a stolen vehicle at around 6 p.m. While responding, officers received information that the vehicle had crashed and rolled on the 400 block of Thain Road.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Nickalos Yates of Kent, Washington, was extricated and suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

It was estimated Yates was traveling at approximately 100 miles per hour, in a 35 miles per hour zone, just prior to the collision where he struck a pickup truck causing minor damage to the other vehicle. The occupant of the pickup truck did not report any injuries.

The road was closed for nearly two hours during the course of the investigation and removal of the approximately 250-foot-long debris field.
